Mikayla earned her Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from Asbury University. She has a passion for working with children and families who have experienced trauma. She completed two undergraduate internships with DCBS and has many years of experience working with children with disabilities as well.
Carrie graduated from Transylvania University with a degree in Elementary Education. She then got her Master's from the University of the Cumberlands. Carrie is now a first-grade teacher at Burgin Independent. She has been teaching elementary for 13 years.
Kelli is a graduate from Mercer County High School. For twenty years she has been a professional photographer. Over the past several years she has had the opportunity to work with adults with disabilities. She loves working with people in the community and has volunteered her time to help others.
Christy graduated from Campbellsville University with a Bachelors of Social Work. She plans to pursue a Masters degree in 2021. Christy lives in Harrodsburg and enjoys playing tennis and being outdoors.
Jordan graduated from Georgetown College in 2019 with a B.S. in Health Science and Psychology. She has since earned an M.S. in Applied Behavior Analysis from Northeastern University. She is working toward the completion of her M.Ed in Counseling and Human Development from Lindsey Wilson College. She has a heart for service and will be working as a Comprehensive Community Support Associate and counseling intern with CAFCA.
Maria is currently finishing her degree at Eastern Kentucky University. She has a long history of working with children and crisis intervention. She currently volunteers with the Crisis Text Line and the Ampersand Sexual Violence Resource Center. She lives in Lancaster with her husband and four children.
Shannon has been working children and families since 2017 with the state of Kentucky. Went to Joilet Junior College studying nursing, worked in the clinical setting for over 10 yrs. She enjoys spending time with her husband and five children and working on their hobby farm.
Sara has worked with adults with disabilities for four years. She frequently volunteers at the Christian Life Center and is pursuing a career in case management. She lives in Harrodsburg with her two cats and dog, who she loves to play with.
Rhonda has worked with children with disabilities for the past 10 years in elementary and high school settings. She lives on her family's farm in Garrard County with her husband Daryl and their three kids.
Heather graduated from EKU with a degree in Elementary Education. She then got her Master's Degree from University of the Cumberlands. She received her Rank I in Moderate to Severe Disabilities from Georgetown College. Heather has taught in the elementary school setting and now teaches Moderate to Severe Disabilities in the middle school setting.
Jeannie graduated from Johnson University with a Bachelor of Arts in Human Services and Bible and Theology. She is equipped to serve families and the community. Mending relationships through holistic approaches is a passion of hers. Before coming on board at CAFCA Jeannie volunteered for three years at a woman’s safe-house in Knoxville TN.
Destinee graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a Bachelor's in Elementary Education. She later received her Master's Degree from the University of the Cumberlands in Learning and Behavior Disorders for Special Education. She has been a Special Education teacher at Burgin Independent for 9 years.
Nikki is currently pursuing her Bachelor's degree in Social Work and an associates in Psychology.
Scotty has his Masters Degrees in English and Secondary English Education. He has taught Writing and Rhetoric at the University of Kentucky, and has also worked with adults with developmental disabilities.
Danielle has been a full time, stay at home mom to four wonderful kids for over seventeen years. IShe enjoys meeting new people while walking beside them as they reach for their goals. She is passionate about cooking healthy dishes, exercising, and learning new things.
Laurie earned a Bachelor of Science in Corrections and Juvenile Justice Studies from Eastern Kentucky University. She has an extensive and well versed 19 years experience working with children, teens and their families. She harnesses her education, experiences and many resources to help her clients transition into healthier lives.
Melvin "Miles" Jackson has a Bachelor's degree in Music Performance from Eastern Kentucky University. He has a history of working with children as an ESL teacher and as a CAFCA employee. He is currently providing Community Living Supports in the Mercer County area.

Kayla started working with children as a mentor through the AmeriCorps program, and quickly developed a passion for it. She spent 6 years working with special needs children in an elementary school setting, and has decided to continue serving children and families with CAFCA. She lives in Lancaster, KY with her husband Ryan and their 3 children. Her hobbies include crafting, and spending time with her family!
